Trinity Niles is very pleased to announced that we have called Mother Pam Sten as our Priest-in-Charge. And, she has accepted! Mother Pam has been leading our worship frequently over the past year, so she is a familiar face for most folks.
Most recently, Mother Pam was the Rector at St. Paul's in Saint Joseph, Michigan. She had previously been the Assistant Rector at St. David's Episcopal Church in Glenview, Illinois, where she served for five years following her ordination. She has a background in music education.
The following is the official announcement from our Senior Warden, Gary Neumann:
Sunday will be a very big day for Trinity, we be welcoming Bishop Hougland for his first visit to Trinity. We will have a brunch following the service that will give everyone a chance to meet him. I urge everyone to join in and help him to feel a very warm and enthusiastic welcome. Sunday we will also be welcoming Mother Pam as our new "Priest in Charge". We will now have a continuity in our services as well as knowing who will be here for the holidays, such as Christmas.
Most of us are very familiar with Mother Pam as she has served as our supply priest 13 times this year. She has approximately 10 years experience as an ordained Episcopal Priest as well as 23 years in the business and social services world .
Your vestry is delighted to welcome her and believe that we could not just sit by and watch Trinity, with no pastoral leadership, slowly wither away. We truly believe that she is a "very good fit" for Trinity.
Now our job, all of us, not just the vestry, is to support Mother Pam and the programs and the learning and growing opportunities that she brings with her. All I can say is that Trinity is on track for some "Good Times Ahead".
I would like to take a minute to thank Gayle Borst, our Junior Warden and the total vestry for all of their thoughts, suggestions, discussions, prayers, special meetings, long meetings, and complete cooperation with each other in reaching this conclusion. This could not have happened without everyone's help and cooperation. Thank you to the congregation also for your patience and understanding.
Gary Neumann,
Sr. Warden
